Police who were patrolling near the bus stop at the time ran into and nabbed a pickpocket thief who stole from a worker on a bus in Coimbatore. The miscreant was taken to the police station for questioning.

Raman is a 35-year-old labourer from Veerapandiyasami Kovil Road near Coimbatore. He visited Gandhipuram on his personal work yesterday. From there he returned home by bus. He was standing inside a crowded bus. Someone kept falling over him and later Raman got off the bus when it stopped near the Chinna Thadagam bus stop. He suddenly pushed him away and left.
Suspicious of this when Raman checked his top pocket he saw that the money was missing. Immediately he shouted and the thief got off the bus and ran away. Police who were patrolling near the bus stop at the time ran into and grabbed the thief by the arm. He was subsequently taken to the police station for questioning.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Rajendran, (37), alias Pappan, from Chinna Thadagam Kuttai route, already had motorcycle theft cases against him at the Kovilpalayam and Chettipalayam police stations. Following this, the police registered a case against Rajendran and arrested him.
