Passenger footfall increase to 1,31,877 during October at Coimbatore International Airport; 994 tonnes of cargo handled

Post the pandemic outbreak Coimbatore International Airport (CIA) continues to witness a steady growth both in passenger footfall and cargo handling. Passengers footfall increase to 1,31,877 during October at Coimbatore International Airport (CIA). About 994 tonnes of cargo handled.


Coimbatore: Post Pandemic outbreak Coimbatore International Airport (CIA) continues to witness a steady growth both in the passenger footfall and cargo handling.

Presently every day more than 20 flights in the scheduled category are operated. Besides this, non scheduled flight operations also witnessed a spike which has helped the overall flight count (both arrival and departure) to increase every day.

At present in India only domestic flight service are operational. However, exemptions are given to Repatriation flights and flight services provided by International airlines. At Coimbatore, Air Arabia is the only airline which is providing international service between Coimbatore and Sharjah.

The Passenger footfall continues to increase every month. During September 1,15,521 passenger's used the CIA and 819 tonnes of cargo were handled and in October the numbers has increased. The airport has registered passenger footfall of 1,31,877 (1,25,053 in domestic sector and 6,824 in the international sector). Apart from this the integrated Air Cargo complex at the airport has handled 994 tonnes of cargo (852.16 tonnes in the domestic sector and 141.8 tonnes in the international sector).

The steady growth continued to be witnessed every month has made passengers, industrialists and aviation enthusiasts happy.
