Coimbatore: The Central Government has issued provisions regarding medical benefits to the permanently disabled, retired insured persons and the registration of UANs on the ESIC online portal for entrepreneurs.
According to the ESI Act, Regulation 60/61 of the ESI Rules 1950 provides for the provision of medical benefits to permanently disabled and retired insured persons and the registration of UANs on the ESIC Online Portal for Entrepreneurs.
Enforcement of ESI Act in the whole of Coimbatore District:
As per the official announcement issued by the Government of India on 29/10/2021, the ESI Scheme has been implemented across Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu from November 01, 2021. Therefore, Industrial Estates within the boundaries of Coimbatore District are requested to register immediately under the ESI Scheme through the following website (www.esic.nic.in) and avoid legal action.
Medical benefits for permanent disabled and retired insured persons under ESI Rules 1950 Rule 60/61:
ESI The Corporation, under the ESI Scheme, provides basic medical treatment to eligible retired / permanently disabled insured persons and their spouses on payment of Rs.120 per annum.
The details of the scheme are as follows:
- Medical benefits for permanent disabled insured persons (Rule 60) - An insured who is entitled to a monthly allowance due to a permanent disability due to occupational injuries is entitled to retire from medical treatment at ESI Hospitals by paying Rs.120 per year to himself and his / her spouse (spouse) without incurring such permanent disability. Available up to date. In addition to the coronary relief benefit, the spouse of the deceased insured person can continue to receive these medical benefits under Rule 60 by paying the aforesaid contribution.
- Medical benefits for retired insured persons (Rule 61) - Retired or optional retirees (spouses) who have contributed ESI for not less than 5 years can avail medical benefits at ESI Hospital dispensaries by paying Rs.120 per annum. In case of death of the insured person receiving medical benefit under Rule 61, his / her spouse Rule 61 says these medical benefits can then be reaped by paying the aforementioned contribution.
UN Registration on ESIC Online Portal:
Entrepreneurs are requested to add the UAN (issued by EPFO Wall) number of all their workers to the ESIC online portal.
