As there was heavy rains along with thunder and lightning it flooded Mangalam Road, Palladam Road, Perumanallur Road, College Road and Uthukkuli Road. Areas including Angeripalayam, Boyambalayam, Rayapuram and Gandhinagar are affected by the floods. People left their homes and took refuge in relatives' houses as electricity was cut off in several places.
Tirupur: It rained heavily in Tirupur for about 4 hours from last evening. As there was heavy rains along with thunder and lightning it flooded Mangalam Road, Palladam Road, Perumanallur Road, College Road and Uthukuli Road.
As a result, motorists returning home after work suffered greatly. Some of the vehicles that were submerged in rainwater did not start and motorists had to push vehicles till their homes. Houses in low-lying areas were also flooded due to continuous rains. Areas including Angeripalayam, Boyambalayam, Rayapuram and Gandhinagar have been affected by the floods. People left their homes and took refuge in relatives' houses as electricity was cut off in several places.
