The Pollachi police arrested 4 members involved in a robbery after they stopped a speeding car in a dramatic chase during a vehicle check.
Pollachi: The four miscreants who waylaid a man near the Pollachi- Pazhani road were arrested after the cops chased down a speeding car.
Thangaraj, a native of Mamarathu Pattai Then Kumarapalayam in the Udumalpet Thali area was suddenly stopped by unidentified persons yesterday. The gang of men threatened him and snatched his Maruti Car and the 3-pound gold chain. Thangaraj registered a complaint with the Thali Police and information about the miscreants was shared with the control room.
As per the instructions of Pollachi Deputy Superintendent Tamilmani and on the orders of Coimbatore District Superintendent Selvanagarathinam, the information was shared with patrol officers who were asked to be on vigil.
A car sped off in the Pollachi Thippampatti area during a vehicle check after which the police grew suspicious about the vehicle.
In a dramatic chase the police caught hold of the vehicle near Chinnapalayam.
Investigations revealed that the passengers were Robin, Arulraj, Sehwag, and Mariyappan, who robbed Thangaraj in Pollachi- Pazhani road. The cops seized the car and the jewellery. The Thali Police registered a case and produced the gang before the court who were later imprisoned.
