Withdrawal of defamation case filed against 9 DMK spokespersons: District Collector formally issues a letter

DMK spokespersons Action Altaf, Aduthurai Uthirapathy, Karur Murali, Karur Ganesan, Chepauk Prabhakaran, Gudiyatham Kumaran, Coimbatore advocate Arulmozhi and Oppilamani were tried in the Coimbatore District Sessions Court. It was decided on behalf of the government to withdraw the defamation case against the politicians. Accordingly, the government order was issued last August to withdraw the cases pending in the court.



Coimbatore: The defamation suit filed against the DMK speakers, filed in the AIADMK regime in Coimbatore, is being withdrawn. During the AIADMK rule, in 2011-2016, when Jayalalithaa was the chief minister, DMK public meetings were held at various places in Coimbatore.

Back then DMK spokespersons Action Altaf, Aduthurai Uthirapathy, Karur Murali, Karur Ganesan, Chepauk Prabhakaran, Gudiyatham Kumaran, Coimbatore advocate Arulmozhi and Oppilamani were tried in the Coimbatore District Sessions Court. It was decided on behalf of the government to withdraw the defamation case against the politicians. Accordingly, the government order was issued last August to withdraw the cases pending in the court.

Following that, the District Collector sent a letter to the Public Prosecutor to withdraw the case against 9 persons pending in the Coimbatore Court. Accordingly, the DMK, with pending cases against the speakers, are duly withdrawn after filing a petition in the Court.
