The Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister, V Senthil Balaji received petitions from the public in Central and East zones during the Makkal Sabha Meetings held in the respective wards.
Coimbatore: The Makkal Sabha Meetings for respective wards were organized in Coimbatore, Central and East Zones on Monday. The Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, V Senthil Balaji met the people and listened to their grievances and received petitions during the meeting.
The Makkal Sabha Meetings were held in Ward No.s 58, 57, 65, 66, 67, 69 in East Zone and Wards 68, 74,75, 50, 51, 54, 52 and 53 in Central Zone. The meetings were also held in ward areas under Singanallur and Coimbatore South Assembly constituencies.
The Minister received petitions from Coimbatore Corporation East Zone Ward No.58 NGR Matric Higher Secondary School, Kamaraj Road, Ward No.57, Corporation Middle School, Masakalipalayam, Ward No.65 Philomina Matric Higher Secondary School, Souripalayam, Ward No.66 Corporation Primary School, Udayampalayam, Ward 67 Corporation Marriage Hall, Men's Higher Secondary Campus, Ramanathapuram, Ward 69 Corporation Primary School, Ganesapuram, Central ZoneCorporation Marriage hall Men's Higher Secondary School Campus, Ramanathapuram, Ward No.74 Bishop Ambrose College, Alvin Nagar, Customs, Ward No.75 Saramedu Crescent Matriculation School, Ward 50 and 51 Corporation Higher Secondary School, North Coimbatore ward 54 Corporation higher secondary school, Ranganathapuram, Ward 52 and 53 Corporation Men's Higher Secondary School Siddhapudur.
The Minister further stated that 64,000 petitions have been received from the Makkal Sabha Meetings held so far in 88 venues which began on October 30. As per the Chief Ministers orders, the meetings will be organized in 100 wards of Coimbatore Corporation, 50 in Municipalities and Town Panchayats across 150 places. He said that more than half of the petitions received were provided solutions and the rest will be dealt with, after receiving respective department solutions.
Former Minister Pongalur Palaniswami, former Singanallur MLA, N Karthik, former Mayor Ganapathi P Rajkumar, former Regional President S M Samy, Regional Assistant Commissioners Mohanasundari, Senthilkumararatnam, Corporation officials and a large number of members of the public were present at the event.
