Coimbatore: The State minister for School Education in Tamil Nadu Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurates computer laboratory in a government school in Kalapatti here.
The computer lab in the government school in Kalappati is set up from the CSR Funds. Speaking to the press after the inauguration, the Minister stated that the private should assist government schools. He informed that an exclusive website is being developed for CSR activities and support which will soon be launched by the Chief Minister.
Speaking of the sexual abuse issue in Coimbatore, the Minister stated that the Principal District Education Officer immediately investigated the issue, however, the school administration was evasive and gave an unsatisfactory response. The cops took swift action and reprimanded the guilty, stated the minister.
He added that there was insufficient awareness about the government's helpline number 14417. The students are encouraged to inform about their issues at this number. A safety box will be put up in the schools and awareness will be spread once schools start functioning completely.
When the scheme is launched on November 19, steps will be taken to create awareness among teachers, parents, and students.The Minister added that the private institutions have been directed to receive only 85% of the fee due to pandemics and shall not collect fee from students who are unable to pay the fee. Certain schools were warned by the school education department when complaints were received of coercion.
The Minister warned that the accreditation of the schools will be taken into question on remarks of continued inhuman activities.
