Coimbatore: On 11th evening, a 12th school student, living in Ukkadam, committed suicide after writing a letter that she decided to take the extreme step as she was a victim of sexual harassment.
Following the death of the girl, people from all walks of life, students, social service organization, women's association and various organisations are involved in the struggle to make sure that the girl who is no more gets justice. On the following 12th, physics teacher Mithun Chakravarty was arrested and imprisoned.
In the chain of events related to this sensational case, Meera Jackson, the principal of a school was arrested in Bengaluru and was jailed last morning. Following this, the parents of the girl received the body and performed the funeral. He said it is being investigated if anyone else at the school was sexually harassed by these 2 people or anyone from the school is involved in sexually harassing students. The minister said the guilty will be arrested in this case, immediately produced before a judge and jailed. Police sources said that they are intensifying their efforts to take the accused into police custody and interrogate them as they have to conduct an investigation.
