Coimbatore: Police are investigating a theft at the hostel at Bharathiar University where goods worth Rs one lakh are reported stolen. There is a hostel for sports persons on the campus of Bharathiar University.

It has come to light that items worth Rs one lakh were stolen from the hostel, including a TV, computer, printer and 50 taps. Vadavalli police investigated the incident and a panel appointed by the university said police action would be taken only after an investigation.
According to Vice-Chancellor Kaliraj, "A special panel is investigating the theft. He said it will soon come to light as to who is responsible for the theft. The Vice-Chancellor assured that action will be initiated against the guilty, once the case of robbery is cracked.”
