Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rains for Coimbatore

Coimbatore: The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains for Coimbatore today. Rainfall recorded at different places in the district during the last 24 hours ending at 8:00 am yesterday includes:-

Mettupalayam 1.50 mm, Cinchona 40, Chinnakallar 58, Valparai BAP, 29, Valparai Taluka Office 26, Sholayar 55, Aliyaru 4, Periyanaickenpalayam 1.2 mm.

The total amount of rainfall received from October 1, 507 mm. This is 106 per cent more than the normal rainfall that Coimbatore district receives during this period annually. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Coimbatore today.
