Road repairs and wet mix application in Coimbatore post deployment of 24-hour water supply pipelines

The application of wet mix and road restoration process are carried out in war footing in Coimbatore post the construction of 24-hour drinking water lines by the Suez.


Coimbatore: The roads are being restored and the work to carry out wet mix applications is speeded up in Coimbatore after the construction of 24-hour drinking water pipeline.

The Coimbatore Corporation’s 24-hour water supply project is taken up by Suez and the construction of drinking water pipelines is in progress in several areas in the city. Post the construction of civil pipes, the process of road restoration and wet mix application is taking place at a rapid progress on a war footing.



The works are in progress in Saramedu Main Road, Maniakaranpalayam, Rakkachi Garden Main Road, Thillai Nagar, Kurinji Garden, PRP garden, Balasundaram Main Road, MG Road, Bharathi Nag, JK Garden, Rose Garden, AKS Nagar, Ponnayarajapuram Main Road, Gopal Lay-out, Chokampudhur Main Road from 6th November. The roads have been restored and wet mix gravel has been applied for about 9,200 lengths (RM). In addition, giant machinery and JCB have been deployed to ensure speedy and quality works on a war footing. Various machinery including 100 workers and engineers are employed.

The Commissioner and Special Officer of the Corporation, Raja Gopal Sunkara has directed the engineers to complete the works expeditiously ensure that it can be used by the public at the earliest.
