It has been raining for the last few days in the estate areas around Valparai in Coimbatore district. Heavy rains last night affected the normal life of the public.
Chinnakallar, Cinchona, Ittiyar Sholayar Dam, Urulikkal, Karumalai, Akkamalai, Vellaimalai, Waverly and Kavarakkal estate areas are greatly impacted due to heavy rains. Thus the normal life of the public was greatly affected.
Valparai received 29 mm of rainfall, Nirar Dam 51 mm, Chinnakallar Dam (Falls) 58 mm and Sholayar Dam 55 mm.
The water level of the Sholayar Dam is currently 165 feet by 160 feet. The water level of the dam is 3,680 9.75 cubic feet and the normal life of the people has been affected by the rains.
