A Kerala youth arrested under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences, or POCSO for kidnapping and marring a 10th class student in Karamadai.
Coimbatore: A Kerala youth is arrested under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences, or POCSO for kidnapping and marrying a 10th class student in Karamadai and sexually assaulting her.
The minor is a 10th class student from Velliyankadu area near Karamadai in Coimbatore district. The school student had visited her grandmother's house in Mannarkadu, Kerala during the holidays.
Since then, she has not returned home. Karamadai police registered a case and conducted an intensive investigation following a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents.
During the investigation by the police, it had come to light that the student got acquainted with Lokesh Kumar (21) who is the minor girl’s grandmother’s neighbour in Kerala. Love between the youth and the minor girl blossomed and the two were reportedly in touch with each other through cell phone.
It has come to light that, the youth Lokesh Kumar abducted the minor who went to his grandmother's house in Kerala on the 9th and raped her while she was staying at her relative's house in Annur Vinnapalli.
The police are conducting a serious investigation.
