A man who accidentally stepped on a broken powerline in a coconut grove in Pollachi died of electrocution.
Coimbatore: A 47-year old man was electrocuted to death after he accidentally stepped on an electric wire in Pollachi.
Kuzhandhaivelu (47), a native of Vaazhaikombu Nagore village under Anaimalai Union next to Pollachi works as a cleaner for a school vehicle at a private school in Diwansapudhur. On Thursday morning, Kuzhandaivelu went to work as usual to the school and later went to the house of the private school owner near the school. Kuzhandaivelu stepped on a broken power line from a nearby power pole in a coconut grove near the house and died of electrocution.
The deceased’s wife, Kalaiyarasi, filed a complaint with the Anaimalai police who recovered Kuzhandaivelu's body and sent it to Vettaikaranpudur Government Hospital for autopsy. Sub-Inspector Chinnakamanan of Anaimalai police station has registered a case and is investigating the death.
