The family members of a school girl stormed the District Collector’s office in Coimbatore demanding action against the school teacher who allegedly gave her sexual tortures.
Coimbatore: A 12th-grade girl hanged herself to death at her house on Thursday, after which the family alleged a school teacher sexually assaulted her.

17-year-old daughter of Magudeswaran of Kottaimedu Perumal Street, hanged herself on Thursday distressing over the sexual assault of a male teacher from her school. Mithun Chakravarthy, a teacher at the Chinmaya Vidyalaya, RS Puram, had repeatedly harassed her and assaulted her sexually which prompted the girl to take her life.
17-year-old student, who had studied till 11th grade at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, changed to Ammaniammal School in Coimbatore two months back. However, the girl was found hanging in her house on November 11, Thursday. The family of the deceased alleged the teacher, Mithun Chakravarthy is responsible for the death of the girl.
The All India Democratic Women Association and the Students Union of India protested in front of the Collectorate demanding justice.
The demonstrators raised slogans stating the arrest of the teacher.
