A 53-year old farmer on his two-wheeler was killed when a truck hit him after a car ahead of him abruptly stopped.
Coimbatore: A local farmer was killed in an accident on Trichy Road in Coimbatore when a truck hit his two-wheeler.
Udayakumar (53), a farmer from Anaimalai was riding on his two-wheeler on Trichy Road on Wednesday when a car ahead of him stopped abruptly near the Singanallur Farmers' Market. Udayakumar was forced to stop but a truck behind him hit his two-wheeler in the blink of an eye due to which Udayakumar was thrown down from his vehicle. An injured Udayakumar was rescued by passers-by and taken to the Coimbatore Government Hospital.
Unfortunately, Udayakumar succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital. The East Traffic Investigation Police have recovered the body and are investigating the accident.
