Coimbatore: Amidst the devastating impact that the Covid-19 pandemic brought in its wake on the entire industry sector at Coimbatore and the surrounding districts, industrialists in the entire Kongu region still contributed over 100 crores to the Tamil Nadu Government. The contributions were made toward various relief and welfare schemes during both the first and second wave of the pandemic.
In response, the Tamil Nadu Government has also been continuously providing support by fulfilling various demands for the city's industrialists which had been pending for many years. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin will be arriving int he city to participate in an event intended to help interaction with the industrialists. This event has been scheduled to be held on November 23 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Center, Avinashi Road.
Currently, the abnormal price hike of raw materials and various other issues have adversely affected industrialists and hence the CM's visit has raised expectations and instilled confidence among the city's industrialists.
"The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's meeting with industrialists is confirmed. Apart from submitting representations, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also be signed. At present, the officials are drawing up the list and have invited 10 members from each industry association. We are very eager to meet the CM since we can talk about our issues directly to him," stated industry sources.
Some industry associations have also decided to felicitate the Chief Minister for providing them with solutions for certain issues which had been kept pending for many years.
