The rural police nabbed 4 people in the city who possessed 2 kg of banned ganja reportedly meant for sale. The accused were imprisoned.
Coimbatore: the city police under the initiative, Drive Against Drug, arrested 4 persons for illegally hoarding and sale of ganja.
District SP Selvanagarathinam had directed the city police to conduct constant patrolling and arrested those involved in the illegal sale of banned liquor, lottery, and narcotic substances. As per the orders, a raid was conducted in the Thadagam area under Deputy Superintendent of Police, (Training) Jaafar Siddique.
The police arrested four persons for illegally hoarding and selling ganja.
Abu Tahir, (38), Saravanakumar, (25), Prabhu, (37), and Prem Kumar, (26) were arrested and 2 kg of ganja was seized from them. All four were remanded to judicial custody.
The District Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore has warned of strict action against those involved in such illegal activities. He informed that the public shall contact Coimbatore District Police Control Room No. 94981-81212 and WhatsApp Number 77081-00100 to inform about those involved in such illegal activities and the details of the informants will be kept confidential.
