The Iravalar community tribes submitted a petition to the Pollachi Sub-collector demanding housing site patta for the community.
Pollachi: A group of tribals in the Pollachi Anaimalai area met the sub-collector of Pollachi on Thursday and submitted a petition to him demanding free patta for the community.
More than 50 families of the Iravalar community have been habituating the Kaaka Kothi Parai in Kaliyapuram Village near Pollachi Anaimalai. The community petitioned the Sub Collector to issue free house site patta.
The petitioners stated that they are yet to receive pattas issued by the state government despite multiple demands made by them. They urged faster issue of pattas and stated that they produced Aadhar and ration cards at the Sub-Collector’s office.
The sub-collector Thackeray Shubham Gnanadev Rao informed the tribals that steps are being taken to provide free house site patta to the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe people in Anaimalai. He urged them to submit the petition to the Anaimalai tasildar for free house site patta and assured them that steps would be taken soon to meet their demand.
