The school has student strength of more than a thousand students. Similarly, Mettupalayam Government Hospital receives over a hundred inpatients and over a thousand outpatients.
Mettupalayam Municipal Administration is dumping garbage collected in the area on the Annaji Rao Main Main Road near the perimeter wall of the girls' high school. They do not dispose it for several days and therefore, there is a risk of stench in the area and infection of school children and children being treated at the Government Hospital Pediatric Center. And this road is used by thousands of students going to girls' high school, patients going to government hospitals and the general public every day. Due to the current monsoon, children are getting cold and cough from time to time.
And now parents are gradually beginning to send their children to school because the corona infection is on the decline. Many parents are afraid to send their children to school as there is a pile of rubbish near the perimeter wall of Mettupalayam Girls' High School. As the Tamil Nadu government takes various initiatives to bring children to school, many parents do not send their children to school due to the possibility of infection.
Therefore, community activists and parents have demanded that the Tamil Nadu government conducts an inspection of the Mettupalayam girls' high school premises by the concerned authorities and remove the rubbish and sewers that are obstructing the education of students there.
