A 33-year-old private company employee who was riding his motorbike was crushed to death on Tuesday as he attempted to overtake the truck ahead of him.
Coimbatore: An attempt to overtake a truck cost the life of a 33-year-old motorbike-borne man in Coimbatore on Tuesday. The youth was crushed to death as a truck from the opposite direction ran over him.
According to police sources, Suresh a 33-year-old private company employee is a resident of Kurumbapalayam near Sulur. He was riding through the Palakkad road yesterday. Suresh attempted to overtake the truck ahead of him but stumbled and fell on the road.
Another truck from the opposite direction ran over Suresh who was lying on the road. In the impact of this Suresh was crushed to death in the blink of an eye.On receiving information, police led by Sulur Inspector Mathiyanan rushed to the spot and conducted an inquiry.
They recovered Suresh’s corpse and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post mortem. The Sulur police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
