Normal operations at Coimbatore Airport highlights the airport's excellent rainwater drainage facility
Coimbatore: In spite of heavy rains lashing most parts of Tamil Nadu due to the Northeast monsoon, flight operations continued as usual at Coimbatore International Airport, courtesy, the city's excellent rainwater drainage facility.
Coimbatore International Airport Director, S Senthil Valavan stated, "Flight operations continue as usual. Today, some flight operations at Chennai got affected. But Coimbatore-Chennai flights operated as scheduled."
"The geographical location along with the excellent drainage facilities at Coimbatore International Airport ensured that in spite of heavy rains for the past few days, there were no issues at the Coimbatore International Airport. Due to various reasons, some airlines may cancel their services. For example, Spice Jet's Coimbatore-Bengaluru airline services are cancelled often. Apart from this, flight operations at Coimbatore Airport has not been affected thus far in spite of continuous rains," reassured aviation sources.
