Coimbatore: MP said that in Pollachi, high bridges will be built at two dangerous places where traffic will be disrupted due to rains. It has been raining continuously across Tamil Nadu for the last few days.
The Coimbatore district continues to receive heavy rains in and around Pollachi. Due to this, the water level in many dams including Sholayar Dam, Parambikulam Dam and Aliyar Dam is rising rapidly. As well as the ponds in various villages are overflowing.
In this, the lake formed near the Gopalsamy hill and crossed various villages was flooded and it later joins the Aliyar River. In particular, the two footbridges across the lake near South Chittoor village and Bedanayakkanur village near Kongampalayam were flooded. Thus the villagers suffer from not being able to cross
Pollachi MP Shanmugasundar visited and inspected these two sites accompanied by Anaimalai Tahsildar Banumathi, Anaimalai Panchayat Union Regional Development Officer Balasubramaniam, DMK. Anaimalai East Union Officer Yuvaraj, District Literary Wing Deputy Organizer Veerappan, South Chittoor Panchayat President Selvanayagam Rajamanickam, Bethanayakkanur Panchayat President Jayanathan and many others were present.
