DMK Officer-in-Charge Paiyya Gounder (A) R. Krishnan visited the site and inspected the site and asked the authorities to construct a temporary road for the public to travel.
Coimbatore: Due to heavy rains in the last few days in Coimbatore district, the footbridge over the Kaushika River near Maniyakaranpalayam Mountain View, which is under the Municipality of Idigarai, was flooded and the footbridge built across the stream was washed away by the rain. This disrupted traffic in the area and caused inconvenience to the public.
Aware of this, Coimbatore West District DMK Officer-in-Charge Paiyya Gounder (A) R. Krishnan visited the site and inspected IT. He asked the authorities to construct a temporary road on a wartime basis enabling the public to travel. He also requested to build a permanent new bridge as soon as the water level in the stream decreases after the end of the monsoon season.
He also promised to take appropriate action by visiting rainwater logged sites and rain-damaged houses in low-lying areas of Kamarajar town in Athipalayam village. Revenue Officer Annur Tahsildhar, Revenue Analyst, VAOs of 3 villages, Highways Officers and DMK Union Secretary - Perur League Secretary and DMK Administrators were present.
