A habitual thief who had again robbed 34 sovereigns of gold jewellery in the Thudiyalur area was arrested by the special squad in Coimbatore based on the orders of the District SP.
Coimbatore:The Coimbatore City Police special team hunted down a habitual thief and recovered 34 sovereigns of gold from him.
Based on the orders of the District Superintendent of Police, S Selvanagarathinam, a special squad was formed to hunt down offenders in the city's Thudiyalur area. A team headed by the Special Sub-Inspector Lourthraj, Chief Constable Anantheeswaran (2189), and Constables Rajkumar (739) and Sundar (1132) hunted down Udhayakumar (30) who had been involved in a series of thefts in the area.
A case was booked and the police recovered 34 sovereign of gold that Udhayakumar had stolen, before lodging him in judicial custody. The cops have urged the public to contact the Coimbatore District Police Control Room No. 94981-81212 and WhatsApp Number 77081-00100 to inform about those involved in such illegal activities. "The details of the informants will be kept confidential," stated the Police Department.
