As northeast monsoon tightens grip on state, K Vanniya Perumal appointed to oversee precautionary measures in Coimbatore

For any rainfall and stagnation related complaints and assistance, numbers are allotted for all parts of Coimbatore, namely Coimbatore South, Ganapathy, Annur.


Coimbatore: Against the backdrop of the northeast monsoon tightening its grip on the state, contact numbers for all areas in Coimbatore are issued, allowing the public to register complaints and seek assistance.

The northeast monsoon has intensified in Tamil Nadu. The Meteorology department has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall for most parts of Tamil Nadu from today up to the 11th of this month. The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast moderate rains in 13 districts of Tamil Nadu for the next couple of hours.

Thus, the Government of Tamil Nadu has assigned K Vanniya Perumal District to oversee the Northeast monsoon forecast activities throughout Tamil Nadu. In addition, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced guidelines that the public of Coimbatore must adhere to. Help line numbers for areas are announced for all areas in the Coimbatore district.

The northeast monsoon poses a major risk of infection as the corona virus continues to spread. Also, the Coimbatore district roads are flooded due to heavy rains. There is a fear that people will get sick due to the mixing of waste water and sewage with this water. For any such complaints and assistance, numbers have been issued for all parts of Coimbatore, namely Coimbatore South, Ganapathy, Annur.
