Revenue Department instructed 48 families living in dilapidated apartment building to evacuate temporarily

As it was raining continuously in Coimbatore and the houses were in a state of disrepair, families of 48 households have been advised to temporarily vacate their homes and move to safer places.


Coimbatore: The Revenue Department has advised to evacuate 48 families living in dilapidated flats in Coimbatore due to continuous rains. Apartments have been constructed on behalf of the Housing Board near the Singanallur Farmers Market in Coimbatore. A total of 960 houses were built here. Many years have passed since the apartment was built and it is still in a state of disrepair.



Currently most of the houses here are vacant less than 400 houses are occupied. There is a demand to demolish these dilapidated flats and build new ones. Heavy rain lashed Coimbatore last night. The Revenue Department, headed by Coimbatore South RTO Ilango, inspected the safety of the Singanallur apartment complex due to the rains. At that time as it was raining continuously in Coimbatore and the houses were in a state of disrepair, families of 48 households have been advised to temporarily vacate their homes and move elsewhere.
