A total of 37,639 passengers have used Coimbatore International Airport, which includes 18,707 passengers arriving from various destinations and 18,932 passengers departing from Coimbatore.
Coimbatore:In spite of the ban on international flight services, the domestic sector flight operations across India continue to witness steady growth.
Post the 'Covid-19' outbreak, airline services from Coimbatore International Airport which serves the aviation needs of Coimbatore and the surrounding seven districts has started returning to normalcy.
During the Diwali festival week, the Coimbatore International Airport witnessed more number of passengers travelling. Coimbatore International Airport Director, S Senthil Valavan said, "During the past one week, starting from October 31 (Sunday) till November 7 (Sunday), a total of 37,639 passengers have used Coimbatore Airport, which includes 18,707 passengers who arrived from various destinations and 18,932 passengers who departed from Coimbatore. In the past one week, the airport has witnessed 311 flight counts. Since most airlines have resumed and introduced new flight services, we can expect daily flight operations to continue increasing in the upcoming days."
The above data is only for the domestic sector. Apart from this, in the international sector, the servie by Air Arabia which is providing regular flight services between Coimbatore-Sharjah and flight services in the non-scheduled category also continue at the Coimbatore International Airport which is noteworthy.
