The city police recovered a rotting woman corpse from a locked room in Coimbatore after the family sense a foul smell inside the house.
Coimbatore:The rural police recovered a decomposed body of a 35-year-old woman in Coimbatore after the family sensed foul odour from the room.
Karthika Devi, (35), daughter of Ramamoorthy of Sokkampudhur in Selvapuram is a B.Sc. graduate. Allegedly, Karthika is mentally ill, unmarried and hence stays in her room. The family usually provides her food at her doorstep as she hardly gets out.
Karthika’s brother broke open her locked room after the family sensed foul odour from the room. The Selvapuram Police arrived at the spot upon information, recovered the corpse and sent it to the Coimbatore GH for post mortem. It is speculated that Karthika must have died at least two days back.
A case is registered and an investigation is carried out speculating a murder.
