Kovai Kutralam closed once again for tourists due to monsoon rains

The forest department announced a ban once again for the tourists in Kovai Kutralam due to the incessant rains in the area.

Coimbatore: Kovai Kutralam is closed for tourists once again as per the forest department’s announcement. The falls will be opened for the public after the flow of water is normal.

The Kovai Kutralam falls will be closed for tourists until further notice as per the forest department. The incessant rains have caused floods in the falls. The forest department had earlier closed the falls during the pandemic and was opened for tourists on the 6th of October with covid protocols followed here.

The falls were closed for 4 days from the 10th of last month due to incessant rains and were yet again opened for the public due to a decrease in water flow. The North-East monsoon throughout the district has caused floods in the falls. The forest department has announced a ban until further notice at the falls for safety purposes.
