A Bihar-bound Express Train (02644) from Patna to Kerala, Ernakulam, arrived in Coimbatore this morning and A Bihar youth was arrested for smuggling cannabis from Bihar.
Coimbatore: Railway security forces today arrested a Bihar youth for smuggling cannabis by train in Coimbatore.
Karthikeyan, Assistant Inspector, Criminal Investigation Department, Railway Security Force, led by Railway Police Troops today boarded the Express Train (02644) from Bihar, Patna to Kerala, Ernakulam at Coimbatore railway station at 10.30 am on information that drugs were being smuggled on express trains from outside the state. A test was carried out.
The man, identified as Bishesh Kumar Yadav, (26), of Katihar district in Bihar, was found smuggling cannabis to Kerala by train. About 1.5 kg of cannabis was seized from him. The confiscated cannabis was handed over to the Coimbatore District Narcotics Division by the Railway Security Forces.
