The DIG appreciated a woman from the Karumathampatti area who informed about theft in her neighbour’s house four days back.
Coimbatore: DIG Muthusamy appreciated Gomathi, for informing of the theft at her neighbour’s house.
Unidentified persons broke in and looted the house of Nirmala, (40), from the Senthil Nagar area next to Karumathampatti on the night of 1st November.
Gomati, the wife of Nagaraj from a neighbouring house, alarmed by the strange noise informed the Karumathampatti police.
Acting on a tip-off, Karumathampatti police arrived at the spot. Murali Eswaran, a former armed forces policeman who was robbing there, was caught red-handed while his mate escaped. DIG Muthusamy arrived at the place in person and appreciated Gomati.
He then distributed sweets and gifts to Gomati and her family.
