Kandasamy was sitting near the Aliyar river bridge passing through Kaliyappagavundanputhur yesterday when he allegedly fell into the river and was swept away by the floods as the Aliyar River is flooded due to continuous rains. Police and fire fighters rushed to the scene and a search is on for the victim.
