A private company employee was stabbed by two drunk men over a dispute at a TASMAC outlet where ganja was demanded from him.
Coimbatore:A private company employee was stabbed at a TASMAC outlet in Coimbatore by two men for not supplying ganja as demanded.
Prem Kumar (27), a private company employee from Sathyamoorthy Nagar in Coimbatore, visited a TASMAC outlet in Muniyappan Kovil Street, in Kamarajar Nagar on Thursday. Marthandam (21) and Kannan from the same area arrived at the outlet and demanded ganja from Prem Kumar. A dispute arose when Prem insisted that he does not possess any ganja. In a fit of rage, Marthandam stabbed Prem in the neck and head. Kannan broke a beer bottle on Prem’s head.
An injured Prem Kumar was rescued by others at the outlet and admitted at Coimbatore Government Hospital. Prem Kumar later lodged a complaint with the Podanur police who registered a case and arrested Marthandam for assaulting Prem Kumar. Marthandam was later produced before the court and imprisoned. Police are searching for Kannan who is absconding.
