A consumer has raised a complaint against Aavin stating that the 'laddoo' box he had bought from an Aavin outlet in the city was spoilt before the mentioned expiry date.
Coimbatore: Aavin sweets bought from an Aavin outlet two days ago was reportedly spoilt even before the expiry date mentioned in the packaging according to a consumer who has raised a complaint.
Sales of Aavin products this year has been the highest this Diwali, in Tamil Nadu. The concerned department officials reportedly worked hard to ensure increase in sale of various Aavin products in various districts. However, there were allegations that the vendors were forced to offer sweets to increase sales in Coimbatore. Aavin Management has denied the allegation and stated that sweets were offered at the discretion of the agents.
Meanwhile, a resident of Ganapathy has raised a complaint stating that the sweets he bought from an Aavin outlet had spoiled much before the date of expiry. The consumer bought a box of ghee 'laddoos' from an Aavin outlet in R S Puram, two days ago. The packaged box had the date of expiry printed as November 6 but the sweets reportedly was spoilt even before the 6th.
The Aavin Sales Manager of Coimbatore has stated that an investigation will be carried out regarding the complaint raised. He added saying, "Aavin sales have been better this year than last year.”
