Tribals along with their families around the foothills of Isha Yoga Centre gathered at the Adiyogi statue to celebrate Diwali with traditional dance and music programs.
Coimbatore: Public from various tribal villages around Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore visited the Adiyogi with their families to celebrate Diwali on November 4.
The tribals from Madakkad, Mullangadu, Thanikandi, Pattiyar Kovilpathi, Pacchan Vayalpathi, Perumal Kovilpathi, Nallurpathi, Singapathi, Vellapathi and Sadivayalpathi marched from the serpent gate to the Adiyogi statue with tambourine plates in their hands.
Later, , they played their traditional musical instruments and danced in front of Adiyogi. The festive mood lightened up as there was a slight drizzle in the region. Since it was the Amavasya (New Moon Day), the Yogeshwara lingam and the saptha rishis were offered flowers and fruits. An 'aarati' was also performed.

On Thursday morning, volunteers in Isha visited various villages in Thondamuthur area and distributed sweets and crackers to families from door-to-door.
