Public stages a road roko in Tirupur at midnight yesterday as rain water and sewage water enters homes.
Tirupur: Residents of Tirupur are severely impacted as heavy rains lashed various parts of the state last night.
This has resulted in inundating homes and government offices in the Angeripalayam area. Residents in the area pointed out to the corporation stating that there is no proper rainwater drainage facility in the area.

The public blamed the corporation for causing great inconvenience as rainwater seeped into homes along with sewage last night due to lack of action.

Later, they engaged in a sudden road roko condemning the corporation administration. Police arrived at the scene upon information and tried to reconcile with the public. The protestors stated that they would not budge without a confirmation from the corporation officials that the issue will be sorted. Similarly, in the Mummoorthy Nagar area under the Tirupur Corporation, more than a hundred houses were flooded and the people of the area were severely affected.
