In a downpour in Coimbatore yesterday, a tree fell near an overhead drinking water tank on Bharathi Park Road in the Saibaba Colony area at around 8.30 pm. The uprooted tree fell on a car parked on the road. Fortunately no casualties were reported as no one was in the car.
Thus, traffic in the area was affected for some time. Saibaba Colony Police arrived at the scene upon receiving information and the traffic was immediately repaired.
Also, the police informed the corporation officials to clear the uprooted leaning tree.
