Coimbatore: Dharmaraj (50) a lawyer who lives with his wife on the first floor of an apartment building near the Sadayappan temple in Valipalayam in Tirupur had locked his apartment on Friday morning to visit a temple out of town. Neighbours suddenly saw smoke rising out of Dharmaraj's apartment and informed the Tirupur North Fire Department and also Dharmaraj. Firefighters rushed to the apartment building to put out the blaze. Later, another fire truck was called and more than 10 firefighters broke down the door of the apartment to put out the fire.

The fire was completely extinguished after about 30 minutes of fire fighting. It is reported that goods worth many lakhs have been burnt and damaged.
