Three men die in a row after consuming alcohol; Race Course Road police are investigating the deaths

Three friends, Parthiban (31), Sakthivel (60) and Muruganantham (55), who consumed alcohol as part of celebrating Diwali are dead. Race Course Road police are investigating the deaths of three men who were friends.



Coimbatore: Parthiban (31), Sakthivel (60) and Muruganantham (55) are from Arundathiyar Road, in Pappanaickenpalayam here. Both Parthiban and Sakthivel were working as painters. Muruganantham from Tenkasi has been staying in the area and was working as a cook.

The trio who were friends consumed alcohol to celebrate Diwali yesterday. At around 6.30 pm, the trio again purchased a new bottle of alcohol. Three men sat in a dilapidated building opposite the Pattattarasiyamman temple on Arundathiyar Road and consumed alcohol.

Sakthivel who came to the back of the temple to go to his is reportedly dead. Muruganantham, who travelled on Bharathiar Road, died. Parthiban died at his home. The bodies of the two were taken away.

Sakthivel’s body was later shifted to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy.



Forensic experts arrived at the scene and recorded his fingerprint, the bottle of alcohol and the clues in the area.
