The 18-year old ended his life by suicide upset at the scolding he received from his parents and grandmother over a trivial incident.
Coimbatore: An 18-year-old engineering student jumped off the fourth floor of his apartment building after his parents and grandmother reportedly scolded him. The boy succumbed to his injuries despite being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Saran was a first-year engineering student studying at a private college. He is the son of Mohan Kumar and lived in an apartment in Keeranatham, Coimbatore. Saran’s sister and her 4-year old daughter were visiting Saran’s home for Diwali and Saran had taken his niece to the shop. On returning from the shop, Saran was rebuked by his grandmother and scolded by his parents for taking the 4-year old girl to the shop.
Upset at being trivially scolded, Saran who had gone upstairs suddenly jumped off from the apartment which is in the fourth floor of the building. He was rushed to the Government Hospital with grievous injuries and succumbed to the same.
Kovilpalayam police have registered a case and an investigation is being carried out.
