The distribution of uniforms, footwear, and stitching costs, for permanent sanitary workers at an estimate of ₹.19,77,757 was inaugurated by the state electricity minister.
Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister inaugurated the distribution of uniforms to sanitary workers in Coimbatore Corporation here on Tuesday.
The distribution of uniforms for permanent sanitary workers in Coimbatore Corporation, at an estimate of ₹.19,77,757, was inaugurated in Coimbatore on Monday. The Tamil Nadu, Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise Minister, Senthil Balaji at the inauguration said “In view of safeguarding hygiene of the permanent sanitary workers in Coimbatore Corporation, two sets of uniforms, footwear along with stitching costs are provided every year.

On the occasion of Diwali, 2021, a set of uniforms were issued by the Governmental Department during the first phase. 1,621 male workers will be given cloth materials for full pants, a short-sleeved shirt, a turban(towel) along with the stitching cost, ₹.450, for a total estimate cost of ₹.13,03,616.

About 912 female workers will be distributed a blue-hue saree, a blouse material, a turban along with stitching cost of ₹.150, at an estimate of ₹.6,71,141. The total of 2,533 persons, both male and female workers, will receive the benefits at an estimate of ₹.19,77,757, “ stated the Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, Senthil Balaji.
District Collector G.S. Sameeran presided over the function. Pollachi MP K. Shanmugasundaram Commissioner of Municipal Corporation and Special Officer Raja Gopal Sunkara took the lead. Assistant Commissioner, Southern Region, Mr. Annadurai, Municipal Welfare Officer Maru Satish Kumar, Principal Education Officer Geetha and corporation officials and staff were present on the occasion.
