On the road from Valparai to Pollachi last night, between the 9th bend and the 8th bend, large stones and trees fell on the road and the traffic was blocked.
Since it was night time the highway department was unable to clear the road and made way allowing small vehicles to pass on one side of the road. Heavy vehicles crossed the road in a dangerous condition using the small track. This caused inconvenience to motorists.
However, in the morning the highway department cleared the landslide with the JCB machine.
