Police have arrested one of the two miscreants involved in a similar burglary in Senthil Nagar area on Monday. The public is shocked to learn that unidentified persons are involved in the theft by breaking the door locks at two different places in the vicinity of Karumathampatti.
Coimbatore: A burglary has taken place at two houses in Karumathampatti near Sulur and one of the miscreant was caught by the public and was handed over to the police. Karumathampatti police are looking for the second person who fled.
Palaniappan (74) and his wife Karuppai (65) are living alone in Sakthi Nagar area next to Karumathampatti. They have two sons and a daughter. Both sons live with their family in the same area. On the 31st of last month, the couple visited their daughter's house in Coimbatore. When they returned to their home on Tuesday morning, they found the front door of the house had been smashed to pieces.
Following this, Palaniappan's wife went to open the back door.
The door was left open and Palaniappan and his wife were shocked to see that the wardrobe inside was broken. The Karumathampatti police who were informed arrived at the scene and carried out an investigation. The investigation revealed that unidentified individuals had stolen 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery and an LED TV from the house. Fingerprint experts lifted fingerprints from the scene and the case was registered.
