Coimbatore: Police are searching for the culprits who stabbed a 12th class student in Coimbatore and snatched his cellphone.
The incident has caused a stir in Coimbatore. Police said they are searching for a man who stabbed a boy in Coimbatore and snatched his mobile phone. Surya, (18) from Sitra, Coimbatore, is a Plus 2 student at Kalapatti Government School.
He works part time in a shop near Sitra. Yesterday he went to work as usual and when he went to a secluded area to urinate, two men on the bike asked for the boy's mobile phone and threatened him. The men, outraged as he refused to part with his phone, stabbed the boy with a concealed knife and snatched his mobile phone worth Rs 8,000. The boy is hospitalized with a head injury.
Peelamedu police have registered a case and are searching with the help of surveillance camera recordings in the area.
