Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, (CCMC), city-based non-government organization (NGO), The Arc Foundation India and National Cadet Corps (NCC) of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, recently organised a Clean India Campaign, as part of Swachh Bharath Abhiyan mission in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, (CCMC), city-based non-government organization (NGO), The Arc Foundation India and National Cadet Corps (NCC) of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, recently organised a Clean India Campaign, as part of Swachh Bharath Abhiyan mission in Coimbatore.
As part of the campaign, the volunteers visited Ward 69 of the Coimbatore Corporation and created door-to-door awareness on importance of source segregation of waste into dry and wet waste, litter collection and removing stagnant water from houses to fight dengue during this rainy season.
The volunteers educated the public on the importance of being vaccinated to defeat corona virus.
In a statement, NGO Arc Foundation India, informed that in partnership with the civic body, the organisation is actively volunteering for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Coimbatore for past six years by initiating various activities.
The representatives from the NGO oriented the NCC cadets of the college on Swachh Bharat and how they can inspire public on adapting to certain small practices to making Coimbatore a clean city in future and can contribute towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 – Climate Action. Sanitizers and gloves were distributed to all the sanitary workers and students by the NGO.
