Health officials warn residents to stay safe from rain-borne diseases in Gothawadi Panchayat near Kinathukadavu

Health Inspectors visit door-to-door in Gothawadi Panchayat near Kinathukadavu and also sprayed chlorine on drinking water tanks houses.



Coimbatore: Incessant rains have been lashing the Kinathukadavu area of Coimbatore district. Residents in the area have been complaining of symptoms like fever, headache and diarrhoea.

The Health Department of Coimbatore district has been visiting each village to create awareness among people on staying safe from various rain-borne diseases. On Monday, health inspectors Selvam and Muthukumar visited the public door-to-door in Gothawadi Panchayat near Kinathukadavu and sprayed chlorine on drinking water tanks in houses.

The health officials instructed villagers that water should not be allowed to stagnate in old tires and coconut shells at home, and that they should drink only boiled water since rain-borne diseases are ont he rise with symptoms of fever, headaches, colds and diarrhoea.
