Coimbatore: The Health Department has stated that Coimbatore district stands first with the most number of its population inoculated with Covid19 vaccine.

The vaccinations have been administered in Coimbatore since January 16 and were initially administered to the frontline workers alone. The vaccine administration for the public commenced on the 1st of April. Mass vaccine drives were organized in the city and the process has been intensified. Accordingly, 97.3 percentage have received their first dose and 43 percent have received their second dose of vaccine in Coimbatore.
According to the health department, Coimbatore tops among the list of districts with the highest number of vaccinations. A health officials said, “Coimbatore district has a population of 38,67,296 people. 27,90,400 are above the age of 18. Out of this, 27,16,992 (97.3 percent) have been vaccinated with the first jab.
12,04,524 (43.1 per cent) received their second jab. Also, those waiting for their 2nd dose are advised to get their vaccinations through a phone call alert.
Soon, the percentage of people who have receivedtheir first dose will reach 99%.
