Coimbatore: On October 31st Pollachi All Women Police arrested five persons and produced them in court including Marimuthu's son Maharajothi (31), who gang-raped a 14-year-old girl in a village near Udumalai Road in Pollachi a few months ago.
Coimbatore District Superintendent Selva Nagarathinam recommended to the District Collector GS Sameeran to invoke the Goondas Act against the five men. Following this, District Collector Sameeran ordered the arrest of 5 persons under the Goondas Act. The Goondas Act imposed on 5 men in a sexual assault case has caused a stir in Coimbatore.
